It is lefty Cole Hamels (7-5, 3.69) for Chicago, and he is in his final couple begins as a Cub since the 35-year-old will be a free agent following this season. The Cubs could bring him back, but it won’t be at near the 20 million this season he is making. Some consider Hamels will go back to Philadelphia, where he was a World Series MVP and started his career.
It’s Hamels’ second straight outing from the Brewers. Last Saturday he allowed five hits and two runs over six innings but had been a failure as Chicago was shut out. The only scoring in the match came on a only by Manny Pina in the first inning. Hamels is 1-1 with a 1.88 ERA in four starts vs. Milwaukee at 2019. The Brewers are hitting on .217 him off have struck out 23 times in 24 innings.
Hernan Perez does not play with every day for the Brewers but expect him considering he’s 10-for-19 with two doubles, a triple and homer profession him off. Ryan Braun is a .283 hitter using three homers at 46 at-bats off Hamels. Christian Yelich is 8-for-32 with three doubles, a homer and nine strikeouts.
Brewers starter Zach Davies (8-7, 3.76) has not won since July 18 in Arizona. The Brewers had dropped five straight of his own trips but changed last weekend opposite Hamels when Davies drove 4.2 shutout innings, allowing four hits. For whatever reason, Brewers manager Craig Counsell eliminated Davies out one shy of qualifying for a success though 77 pitches had just thrown. Hamels doubled with one out at Jason Heyward accompanied using a lineout to base and the fifth. Counsell then brought in Matt Albers to face Nicholas Castellanos, who flied out to end the inning.
Davies is 1-2 with a 4.21 ERA in five starts this season against the Cubs but has an extremely nice 3.69 ERA in 18 career starts against them. Kris Bryant is a livelihood .347 hitter with 2 homers in 49 at-bats him off. Javier Baez, that has been fighting a thumb issue, is 10-for-33 using a homer but also 10 strikeouts. Kyle Schwarber has four homers in 28 at-bats. Jason Heyward is just 5-for-34 away Davies.
Not a lean on the side as the Cubs have been dreadful on the street for the large part this season along with the Brewers over .500 in the home. We are going to stay with the complete.
