Bastian Schweinsteiger has announced his retirement. The 35-year-old scored 24 goals for Germany after making his debut as a 19-year-old at 2004 and played with 121 times, also was a part of the squad who won the World Cup in 2014. At club level, Schweinsteiger and 500 occasions played with for Bayern Munich, where he won seven Cup titles eight Bundesliga titles and the Champions League at 2013. The midfielder transferred to Manchester United at 2015 from Bayern Munich, prior to registering for Chicago Fire in 2017, in which he won the FA Cup and the League Cup. In a declaration on his Twitter accounts, Schweinsteiger stated:Dear fansthat the time has now come, and I will be completing my active career in the end of the year. I would like to thank both my groups FC Bayern, Manchester United, Chicago Fire and the German national group. You made this unbelievable time potential for me personally! And of course, Id like to remind my wife Ana Ivanovic along with my family for their service. Saying goodbye as a active player makes me feel somewhat nostalgic, but I am also looking forward to the exciting challenges that await me shortly. I shall stay loyal to soccer.
